As Senior Technical Writer at Limelight Health, you will directly help our customers and partners better understand how to configure and use our products. We are looking for a technical writer who is passionate about how our users experience documentation, curious about how the product works, and systematic in developing the workflows and best practices for creating and maintaining product documentation. This effort will directly contribute to accelerating our professional services team, helping our customers get full value from our products, and driving the success of Limelight.

In this role, you will build the structure for an emerging, growing company. As you will be the first Technical Writer on the team, you will be an individual contributor who will have a great impact on product development and the remote teams you will work with. As documentation is on our strategic goals for 2020, you will have high visibility success of our professional services project, with support all the way to the Board of Directors.

The Senior Technical Writer leads and implements product documentation processes, templates, and systems, from initiation to delivery serving multiple professional services, implementation partner, administrator, and user personas. You will rely on effective engagement with Product, Engineering, and Professional Services and use strong organizational skills and excellent time management to ensure accessibility, accuracy, control, and timeliness of product documents.


Minimum 7 years of technical writing experience, with a portfolio of samples
Technical writing experience with cloud technologies, SaaS, and APIs
Experience with creating standards and practices as it relates to product documentation


Insurance industry experience (especially "InsurTech" software)

Essential Functions:

Plan, design, and drive documentation efforts for product documentation that is written by subject matter experts.
Set and maintain standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology across the company. Establish and communicate technical writing policies and practices.
Review, edit, and update existing documents. Interview and observe subject matter experts. Read the code to understand how the product is written and functions.
Digest complex concepts and communicate in writing using explanatory and procedural styles suited for a variety of audiences. Write clear and concise product and technical documents.
Create a feedback loop for user needs, identify content and access gaps, and plan and prioritize as necessary.
Collaborate with Training and Customer Success colleagues to deliver a consistent user experience across learning content and technical support content.
Collaborate with Customer Success on systems, processes, and content for customer self-service documentation and user guides.
Define and track documentation metrics.
